Factories

Why Factories?

Factories primarily utilize fossil fuels as their energy source. When these fuels are combusted, they produce an abundance of harmful gasses including sulfur dioxide and, of course, CO2.

According to an observational study conducted by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, 28.4 percent of 2016 greenhouse gas emissions were generated by electricity. Approximately 68 percent of electricity in the US comes from burning fossil fuels. In addition, 22 percent comes from industry.

How Can We Fix This?
We plan to implement M. Luteus into the exhaust chambers of these industries. By applying a more concentrated coating of bacteria on the chambers closer to the production source, and thinning it as these tubes reach the surface, we maximize the surface area covered.
