About VIRE

Team VIRE is  one of the many teams from the Loudoun County Academy of Science participating in the ExploraVision competition. The team’s name is an acronym of all of our names put together (Vishnu, Isabelle, Rahul, and Eshna). We are all freshmen in highschool and this is our first time competing together. It has been an exciting and interesting experience and we hope that our ETM will be used one day to benefit people around the world.

MEMBERS:

Rahul Kumar: Toshiba has been a very interesting journey for us as a team. We had to learn a variety of new skills and identify various issues in designing a high-level idea for this competition. This competition allowed me to utilize critical thinking and problem solving to achieve a goal.

Vishnu Paranganat: A 9th grader going to the Academy of Science. ExploraVision was very interesting and a cool opportunity.

Isabelle Marsh: The ExploraVision competition has encouraged me to think outside the box and motivated our team to find new and innovative ways to solve real-world problems.

Eshna Narla: The Toshiba Challenge has allowed me to expand my knowledge on many different areas of education and has given us a great opportunity to work together in order to target a vital issue in the world.

Sundaram Thirukkurungudi (Coach): I have worn several hats in the field of education and training since 1984. I have been coaching students for the ExploraVision Challenge for the past seven years and I am always amazed by the refreshing visualizations the students have for the use science and technology to help people in the future.
