Carbon Nanotube Structure and Properties

Carbon nanotubes are cylindrical molecules created by folding sheets of hexagonal carbon rings along a chiral vector. Folding along different vectors creates different forms, or chiralities, of CNTs. Each chirality has unique electronic and optical properties. One attribute which differs between chiralities is the range of wavelengths of light that the nanotube can absorb.
