In 2017 more than 47,000 people died due to an opioid overdose. The same year over 1.7 million people in the US suffered from disorders related to the use of prescription opioid painkillers. Multiple over the counter painkillers have also shown to have negative effects.

Our proposed technology, VirtuX, intends to solve these problems by creating an alternative way of relieving pain. Rather than using chemicals in an attempt to mitigate pain VirtuX uses virtual reality to safely and effectively reduce pain. The VirtuX system can be used in a wide range of situations and is lightweight and portable for use outside of the home. All in all VirtuX is a technology which will give everyone a safe and pain free future.
