Ocular Prosthetics
Ocular Prosthetics are our vision for the future of vision restoration as they will provide a reliable solution to cure retinal degenerative diseases and assist those suffering from vision loss regain their sight.

How does OPTIC work?

OPTIC utilizes synthetic photoreceptors made of Quantum Dots (QDs) to replace damaged rods and cones in the patient's retina. The scaffold is composed of Cell Adhesion Molecules (CAMs) which align and attach the synthetic photoreceptors to remaining retinal cells, if any. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Hydrogel will then act by supporting tissue regeneration. A flexible, high-density electrode array will then transmit the interpreted electrical signals for the photoreceptors to the brain through the optic nerve. This, overall, presents a reliable prosthetic solution to mimic the natural vision processing which was initially interrupted by the degenerative diseases.
