Breakthrough 1: Extracting saliva enzymes from Waxworms

The extraction of salvia from waxworms marks the initial stage of a process set to transform plastic degradation. These salvia-extracted tablets play a crucial role in the Oxidation compartment. Within this system, the tablets act as catalysts, inducing plastic brittleness, making it more amenable to the following degradation. This controlled oxidation weakens the plastic's molecular structure and is vital in preparing it for the next stages.

These tablets are instrumental in the Oxidation compartment, as they pre-digest the plastic, streamlining the degradation process. This innovative approach aligns with our commitment to eco-friendliness, reducing energy and resource consumption while facilitating responsible plastic disintegration."

Breakthrough 2: Extracting Enzymes from the Fungi and Bacteria

The tablets designated for use in the degradation compartment are called PEBET tablets. They are created by mixing together various enzymes obtained from different bacteria and fungi. These enzymes(PETase, MHETase, esterases, lipases, cutinases) come from bacteria found in the guts of superworms and waxworms, as well as from other bacteria like Ideonella and Comamonas.

There are also enzymes from fungi like Neodevriesia sp. and Lachnellula sp.

To gather these enzymes, we cultivate the fungi and bacteria in specific conditions. Once the enzymes are extracted, we convert these enzymes into the PEBET tablets.
