Currently, after an ACL tear people have repair surgeries. While recovering they take a variety of post-operative drugs, such as Toradol (Ketorolac) for inflammation, Oxycodone for pain relief, and ibuprofen for further pain for continuing weeks after surgery. Afters surgery, athletes look to extensive rehabilitation sessions,  physical therapy, and rehab braces to try and regain strength. These braces are designed to help people regain strength and flexibility in the ligament by limiting full movement of the knee to try and prevent hyperextension while reducing pain and swelling.
