Impacts
1. Fewer Carbon Dioxide emissions
The manufacturing process of Li+ batteries emits large amounts of COâ‚‚. With our Mycelial Battery, however, we can mass-produce a rechargeable battery that produces far less COâ‚‚ and is far better for the planet than the current Li+ batteries.

2. Large-scale job creation
Our Mycelial Batteries would require infrastructure for mass production, which may initially be costly. However, this expense would be compensated over time as this new infrastructure would create a large amount of job opportunities for many, thus bringing a positive impact on our economy and the world in the long run.

3. Increased sustainability of electric cars
Electric car production emits a similar amount of COâ‚‚ compared to standard cars. The production of a commonly used electric car generates up to 16,000 kg of COâ‚‚ during its lithium battery manufacturing process. With the replacement of Li+ batteries with our Mycelial Batteries, a more environmentally friendly electric car can be produced.
4. A decrease in human rights abuses
Many people are exploited for both the mining of lithium, and the production of the batteries. With a new battery that doesn't require lithium mining, human rights abuses will decrease, as the battery's production will no longer be as necessary.

5. A decrease in the harm of ecosystems
Disposal of Li+ batteries often leads to the contamination of soil, water, and air, harming animals. Due to our Mycelial Batteries being both recyclable and rechargeable, they will not have to be disposed of and will not release the harmful metals that Li+ batteries do.
