Dermaplex uses AI trained on diverse and inclusive datasets to improve accuracy across all skin tones. It integrates real-time biosensor data to continuously monitor inflammation and drug levels. Most importantly, Dermaplex connects analysis directly to action by guiding treatment decisions and optimizing drug delivery in real time.

Smartphone App & Adaptive AI System
A connected smartphone app processes biosensor data via Bluetooth, compares healing progression to reference patterns, and guides treatment by notifying patients when drug levels fall below therapeutic thresholds or when patch replacement is needed.
Real-Time Biosensor Integration
Embedded biosensors continuously measure inflammatory markers (IL-6, TNF-α), pH, and drug concentration every 30 seconds, enabling dynamic, real-time monitoring of the wound environment.
AI Integration
Diverse Skin Tone Accuracy
Dermaplex’s AI is trained on datasets representing Fitzpatrick skin types I–VI and uses multimodal inputs (pH, temperature, and inflammatory biomarkers) to accurately detect inflammation across diverse skin tones, reducing bias in wound assessment. This approach improves diagnostic accuracy and ensures equitable treatment across diverse patient populations.
Dermaplex patches come
in a wide range of skin tones!

We create microneedles with different HA/PVP ratios to control how fast the drug is released.
Each patch is tested in a Franz diffusion cell to measure how much drug passes through over time.
Experimentation
A Strat-M® membrane is used to mimic human skin and ensure realistic results.
Positive and negative controls define maximum and minimum drug release for comparison.
Drug levels are measured at 1, 4, 8, 12, 24 hours to calculate how long sustained release lasts.
HA dissolves quickly, while PVP
slows it by limiting water penetration.
Breakthroughs
70/30 and 50/50 HA/PVP
blends release over 8–12 hours.
No previous work has optimized HA/PVP
for 24-hour anti-scarring delivery
