Drops in brain activity can be used as stroke biomarkers, because ischemic strokes cause them by cutting off the brain’s oxygen supply.
Delta theta waves (1-7 Hz) are abundant during sleep, while alpha/beta waves are scarce. Decreases in Delta+Theta /Alpha+Beta (DTAB) ratio over 15% trigger iSpystroke's alarm.
iSpyStroke uses EEG sensors to screen for decreases in brain waves, which are wired in head straps fitting over the patient’s frontal, temporal, and parietal lobes.
iSpyStroke will track individual brain wave activity and personalize to each wearer’s unique frequencies in order to accurately detect strokes.
