THE SMART TOILET

"The Smart Toilet Saves Lives"

HISTORY

PRESENT TECHNOLOGY

•Heated, Ultra Comfortable patented seating surface with built-in antimicrobial agent

•Automatic toilet seat cover

•Self-cleaning toilet that cleans and removes stains with a simple press of a button.

•Washes and Dries the user; no toilet paper needed.

•Cleans toilet bowl automatically using electrolyzed water.

FUTURE TECHNOLOGY

Smart Toilet Design Components

•A "Sampling Cabinet“ will contain:

•A sampling container to capture the sample

•Instruments for testing

•Sterilization tank and sampling pumps

•Processor (to process the information from the instruments)

•WiFi modem,  Bluetooth transmitter

•120V AC power source

The Smart Toilet Experience

•User presses a button to indicate the test to be performed.

•A sample cup extends into the toilet bowl to obtain a sample.

•Samples move via sampling pumps to the "Sampling Cabinet".

•The instruments conduct the tests and the processor processes the information.

•Within 5 minutes a push notification from the Smart Toilet app will notify you of your results.

FUTURE TECHNOLOGY

How Sampling Data is Communicated to the User

•The user downloads the app and registers their account.

•Bluetooth is used to pair the User to the Smart Toilet.

•WiFi setup for the Smart Toilet can then be completed over the app.

•The app registration will allow you to register your physician.

Data Storage and Analytics

•A cloud-based database will store the results from the daily and weekly analyses.

•The analytics are performed in the cloud and pushed to the app.

•The results are made available in a user-friendly presentation.

•Historical results will be stored in the cloud database.

•Physicians/caretakers can view results.

DESIGN PROCESS

1.First, we discussed that we wanted to invent something to help people.

2.We discussed and researched various ideas that would help monitor or improve people’s health.  We came up with the idea of the Smart Toilet.

3.We discussed different health tests that could be performed to identify health conditions including urine tests, stool tests, blood pressure, body temperature and various others.  We decided urine and stool samples would give a lot of important information.

4.We discussed having a touch screen that would be connected to the toilet.  However, we decided that an app would be more user-friendly and sanitary.

5.The app would provide the results of the urine and stool tests and would summarize any issues/concerns to be discussed with a doctor.

6.We decided to have a Kids’ App and an Adult App.  The Kids’ App would let kids receive information about their health and ways to become healthier.  The Adult App could be used by adults to monitor their health, their children’s health and their parent’s health.

7.We researched the various App technologies that would be required to make the Smart Toilet communicate with the App.
